Like everyone else, I cut my teeth as a teenager performing in local bands.  It was the late 60’s in Essex County, during the famous “Surfside 3” era, and it was in those magical moments that I realized this was the business for me.

In the early 70’s I had the pleasure of working on several technical projects and concerts at St. Clair College and touring Ontario as a Music Director, Composer and Performer in the Windsor Truck Theater. From there I took a job as Program Director of Essex Cable TV ( Rogers CATV) producing and directing Music, News, Sports and Current Affairs programs.

In 1977 I went to work for the CBC. This provided me the opportunity to travel, meet and work with some amazing people as Senior Recording Engineer and Senior Production Editor.

I left the CBC in 1989 and took a position with St. Clair College Media Services as Senior Staff Producer until my retirement in 2014.

Through the years I have also had the pleasure of teaching Broadcasting and Audio Technology to the Advertising, Journalism and Entertainment Technology programs at St. Clair College as well as composing and performing music for CBET TV News, CBC regional show “This Week in Ontario”, Canadian Cancer Society and various local TV commercials.

Music and the arts has been a passion of mine for as long as I can remember and I have been blessed to be part of some amazing moments throughout my 40+ year career.

These days I’m fortunate to spend my time working with some amazing artists and performers in the studio, performing publicly with other local musicians and being a Grandpa to six grandchildren.

It is always a pleasure to work with Ed. He gets it, he understands what we are reaching for, he knows his craft as a producer and engineer…and the bonus is he’s a great musician!

Great atmosphere to work in and I have received many comments about the quality of the recording. His years of experience show in the final product.

I could go on and on but the one thing I am most proud of is that the “soundmen” at Stonehedge really cared about not only my project but believed in my music.
Jimmy Heyens
You will not find a more relaxed atmosphere anywhere. The recording quality is impeccable, and the end result meets, if not exceeds the artist’s vision.
